From Surviving to Thriving: Implementing NGSS in your science classroom.
**Teachers will need to bring their GCS device and the teacher edition of the textbook.** Teachers will be able to walk through the new science standards using the kits, online textbook and additional resources. Teachers will leave with plans, activities and strategies to do in their first 2 units of study. Teachers will learn to work with inquiry and labs and support their craft with best practices.

Verbal De-Escalation
This training emphasizes and teaches different levels of responding to crisis situations. Specifically, positive behavior interventions, de-escalation techniques and other strategies for early interventions are taught. Participants will be able to show competency in using strategies to de-escalate students who exhibit problem behaviors at different levels.

Attendance Intervention for Administrators & Attendance Clerks
Pre-registration at https://pd.greenville.k12.sc.us/myPD.aspx?action=register&sessionid=188427 is required. This session will help personnel tasked with attendance intervention learn more about attendance intervention procedures, truancy laws, district attendance policies, and tips for tracking /managing student attendance. We will explore how to use the truancy components in Staff Backpack. This is an opportunity for anyone who conducts attendance intervention conferences to gain increased understanding on district expectations and state requirements regarding truancy intervention.
