Participants will develop the skill to use learning targets as powerful learning tools. We will engage particpants in creating effective learning targets, and how to break down the learning target with the class to provide a road map for the day's learning. Elementary examples for both reading and math will be included across multiple grade levels. You will leave this session with real tools to use in your classroom!

Tools to Assess and Support Historical Thinking Skills (Grades 4 - 8)
**This session is for upper elementary and middle school teachers.** Imagine a student and teacher knowing exactly what success looks like, where they are in their learning, and what learning they still need in order to grow. Learning progressions can make this a reality! Participants will learn what progressions are, why they are important, and preview Historical Thinking progressions co-developed by the SCDE Office of Personalized Learning and Office of Assessment and Standards.

Teaching Economics Through Children's Literature
This session will help elementary teachers introduce students to economics and history through popular children’s books. After the session, teachers will be able to identify economics concepts in the standards and integrate economic lessons into their classroom.
