**For teachers that use Reading Horizons Kindergarten or Discovery.** This segment provides detailed information on how to use decodable text to build students' fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. Attendees will learn how to use activities before reading, during reading, and after reading to build both decoding and language comprehension skills. Attendees will also learn how to assess fluency and comprehension using decodable text and how to determine if students need additional practice. Finally, attendees will learn how to guide students through the last stage of transfer using grade-level, content area text to increase students' decoding and comprehension skills.
